Reason is the best way to study external things, the outside world that exists beyond your mind
It does this through the scientific method and enquiry, and empiricism
That's how we advance as a species
Intuition and faith are the best way to know internal things – the self
Through introspection, meditation, prayer, and contemplating
God
Looking for God is an act of faith and can breed further faith
God can be found internally – within you
Therefore, intuition and faith can be used to know God
That's how people can develop as individuals
Sure, he can be found in the outside world, but I think it is easier to find him within yourself as that is where he truly dwells – he isn’t on some cloud or whatever, the whole fabric of reality is Divine
That has been my experience anyway
I think within is the best place to seek - and then find God
And when you look for him inside you, you will invite him into your life and he will make himself known through your experience of reality (Reality being divine - the way in which God exists)
And you most certainly don't need to go to any place of worship to find God!
It is a good thing to work on but it can take time, think of it as building a relationship, God can speak to his humans through their experiences of reality but you need to be sensitive to this and to not see things as signs when they are not signs
For me it is a constant effort - maybe even a constant struggle
Regular prayer can align your mind and self-awareness with the reality of God, it builds a relationship with him
This is mysticism
And here's the thing:
The outside world is truly within you
