"Ethical Monotheism" and The Madaba Path

The Madaba Path is basically a belief in a certain "Ethical Monotheism"

The Madaba Path affirms that:

  • God exists
  • God is good
  • God is there for everyone - God is a universal God

Any religion or belief system that also affirms those above three points corresponds to The Madaba Path

And has Madaba's support

As does any individual believer, if they dedicate their life to being good to all other humans and don't offend Madaba's standards, which are pretty reasonable really...

Madaba is all for any religion or spiritual movement that has those three essential characteristics

It is possible to walk The Madaba Path without engaging in any pre-existing religion or going down any pre-existing path

But that would be no fun and also quite lonely

Also, I believe that God is Panentheist in nature, but that term is not widely understood and Panentheism is Monotheistic - so I call what's going on "Ethical Monotheism" even though I believe in Panentheism

But I don't think any of that matters to Madaba, so long as you believe in him and treat others well

It's not the details that are important, it is the big picture

What Does It Mean To Follow The Madaba Path?

Madaba considers those who follow his standards and who want to build a relationship with him to be his followers - and him considering you one of his followers is both good in and of itself and good in terms of your inevitable post-death Audit

To follow Madaba and cultivate a relationship with him is to walk The Madaba Path

And to follow any of the world's major religions is to follow Madaba, hence the world's major religions are all The Madaba Path, they all correspond to it and to follow them is to follow Madaba

(even some of the world's minor religions!)

Although not all such followers follow it perfectly, to say the least!

Most of the world’s religions are the same basic path as The Madaba Path

But each has its own details, its own unique features and content

And each results in it own way of life and has its own culture

Yet each is as good as the other - even if they all claim exclusivity

I don't think any one faith tradition is exclusively true, I believe that any faith tradition that corresponds to The Madaba Path is true, and that The Madaba Path is exclusively true.

I believe that Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism (and most other religions) are ways of walking The Madaba Path

Madaba approves of all those religions, and many more too

But not when they are done wrong

I believe that to believe in God is to believe in Madaba and that Madaba likes it when people believe in God as that means that they believe in him

I believe that to speak of God (or whatever else you want to call him) is to speak of Madaba

It is possible to walk The Madaba Path without subscribing to any of the world’s religions, but I think that to do that would be to miss out on much of the holy experience of following a religion, as well as much of the culture and the community - and a whole way of life, and I think that the ways of life that each faith tradition offers can be rich and fulfilling

I walk The Madaba Path by being a Christian. It is in terms of Christianity and the Christian God Concept that I approach Madaba and understand reality and my place in it

Walking The Madaba Path - part 1

I am a Christian

And I walk The Madaba Path

The two do not cancel each other out

Being a Christian is one way to walk The Madaba Path

There are many other ways to walk The Madaba Path

Maybe you are doing so already!

When you walk The Madaba Path you are not alone

Others walk it too

But in different ways

In my next post I will post about how I commune with Upstairs and how Upstairs features in my life

Salvation by Audit

Once you die your entire life and character will be audited by Upstairs

In a post-death Audit

This is not so much a judgment, more an assessment

Which will determine what happens to you next, based on how you lived your life here on Earth

I don't believe in salvation by faith alone, or by deeds alone. I believe that all possible factors are taken into consideration: deeds, faith, character

Basically, Upstairs will be forming an opinion on you, and will treat you according to that opinion

And the process is fair and uniform - everyone is judged my the same standards

What are those standards? - that is for us to figure out whilst we are alive!

But here's a hint: most religious paths can help you with that

You cannot cheat the Audit, the Auditors (Upstairs) know your intentions and motivations and will Audit you based on those, not how you act out - although of course how you act out is of great importance to the process. But if you are a total bastard and do good stuff then you will be Audited as a total bastard who does good stuff. Not a total bastard who doesn't do good stuff (or who does bad stuff too) and not as any kind of good person.

Here are some of the possibilities, things that may happen to you following your Audit.
  • Heaven (nice place)
  • Hell (bad place)
  • Purgatory (people actually believe this, so maybe it is now a thing)
  • Annihilation (no more existence for you!)
  • Fragmentation (being split into multiple beings)
  • Combination (being combined with other beings)
  • Some kind of Moksha or Nirvana (moving up to Upstairs?)
  • Reincarnation (have another go - either as a person or an animal)
  • Deification - absorption into The Godhead
  • Promotion - into a sub-God "Heavenly being"
  • Being made dormant - put into suspended animation indefinitely

Maybe there are many more. I don't know.

Also, more than one may happen to any one person. For instance, a bad person could be sent to Hell for say ten year's time and then following that be annihilated, or busted down to a snail or reptile for their next life. Or then be outright annihilated.

You'll need to read all six pages to get the message of this website!

This website has been totally re-done!

It now has a coherent and explicit moral message, for all humans

In my opinion it has been vastly improved

It has been narrowed down to six basic pages

All of which are linked to underneath this website's main title

You really need to read all six of them to get the message of this website!
